Dear Childminder,
I am sure you are very aware of the current consultation process on the Draft Childminding Regulations. We thank all of you who have participated in the consultations to date. As the end of the consultation period approaches, I am now asking you to consider sending in a written submission. During the last consultation period, on the Draft Childminding Action Plan in 2019, only 14 submissions were made.
A submission is your opportunity to feedback to the Department, the impact that these proposals will have on your individual service. There is no word count, and there is no special format required. This is your chance to have your say.
The submission can be made by email to
There is no substitute for your authentic voice and your individual perspective on the Draft Regulations. Use your voice to ensure that your concerns are on record. Ask yourself the following questions.
- Have you completed the online questionnaire at Gov.ie/en/consultation/2017d-public-consultation-on-the-draft-childminding-regulations ?
- Have you asked your parent/clients to submit their reactions to the proposals?
- Have you contacted your local TD, Senator, County Councillor?
- Have you prepared your brief submission on the Draft Proposals and either emailed it or posted a hard copy to the Department?
Thank you for reading this and I appeal to you to ensure that your voice is heard.
Kind regards,
Mary Walsh
